At the outset we would like to express our gratitude to our enthusiastic Outdoor Classroom Day India community…a big thank you wonderful principals, teachers, and students for making our first Outdoor Classroom Day a grand success! Here are a few glimpses of how we celebrated and what we achieved this year!

Over 2 million children in almost 20,000 schools got involved in Outdoor Classroom Day globally in 2017! Teachers in over 100 countries across all 7 continents took students outdoors to play and learn. Almost 2500 parents pledged to support the campaign.

Not only did we reach all four corners of the world map, we even reached across the length and breadth of our beautiful country! 120,761 children across 595 Indian schools celebrated the first-ever Outdoor Classroom Day in India by playing and taking their lessons outside. These schools were spread across 26 Indian states and 3 union territories with Delhi NCR and Maharashtra ruling the charts.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the day, schools across the country celebrated with great zeal and fervor. While schools that were already champions of outdoor play and learning led by example, some schools celebrated Outdoor Classroom Day all month long!

Not only did schools celebrate outdoor play and learning on October 12, some colleges and universities joined in the celebrations too.

We even got featured in several leading newspapers and e-news portals across the country!

 

 

 

 

 

 

We received several endorsements from like minded organizations and individuals who are now partners with us in promoting the cause of free play and learning outdoors. Bollywood mom Tara Sharma endorsed us too!

We received a lot of love from all of you with 32 strong followers and over 12,000 tweet impressions on Twitter! More love flowed in with 880 followers, 861 likes, and over thousands of fresh and shared posts on Facebook! What’s even more exciting is that lots of teachers and students told us that they would want to do this again the next year,  and the next, and the next…with several schools continuing with their celebrations of outdoor play and learning all year long!
